Jumpax® Acoustic: The Ultimate Underlayment for Sound Reduction

Jumpax® Acoustic is a high-performance, sound-reducing underlayment designed specifically for wooden subfloors. This versatile system is also compatible with solid sand-cement subfloors, providing a contact sound reduction of 21 dB ΔLw when combined with various floor coverings. It’s the perfect solution for achieving quiet and comfortable spaces, meeting stringent noise reduction standards.

Innovative Dual-Layer Design

The system consists of:

  • 10 mm (0.394’’) fire-resistant gypsum board with a 4 mm (0.157’’) sound-reducing coconut fiber layer.
  • 4 mm (0.157’’) MDF board that creates a perfectly flat and stable surface.

This underlayment supports direct installation of resilient floor coverings like PVC, marmoleum, and rubber. It’s also suitable for gluing engineered wood and dual-plank flooring directly on top.

Easy Installation

Jumpax® Acoustic is composed of 60 x 120 cm (24-inch by 48-inch) panels with interactive adhesive and a protective release liner. The top and bottom panels are installed in a staggered overlapping pattern, creating an exceptionally stable and smooth base. No additional adhesives or screws are required for installation.

Proven Sound Reduction

When installed on a wooden subfloor, Jumpax® Acoustic achieves at least 11 dB ΔLw sound reduction in combination with more than ten different types of floor finishes. On solid sand-cement subfloors, it delivers a minimum 11  dB ΔLw noise reduction when paired with elastic floor coverings like LVT, rubber, or marmoleum.

This makes Jumpax® Acoustic an ideal solution for transforming old office buildings into modern apartments where contact sound reduction is a priority.
