FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is the first international hallmark with strict requirements for sustainable and socially responsible forest management, supported by governments, companies and environmental organisations.
FSC products such as wood, paper and cardboard are an inexhaustible raw material as a product of responsible forest management. It is therefore by nature a circular material and part of the so-called biological cycle. This is in contrast to materials such as concrete, plastic and metals which, being produced from primary raw materials, are finite in supply.
Using more sustainable wood in our projects and products. In this way, we are actively working on maintaining forests worldwide. Moreover, we are taking advantage of all opportunities for a climate-friendly, circular economy.
FSC certification is also an instrument against deforestation. An FSC forest may not be converted into a soya or palm oil plantation or end up as a cattle breeding or mining area. If we choose FSC products, the forests can be managed well and remain healthy. The result? Today, more than 200 million hectares of forests worldwide are FSC-certified. This is comparable to fifty times the surface area of the Netherlands!
Unifloor B.V. attaches great importance to the fact that all woody raw materials used for its sub-floors are obtained from forests which can be preserved through responsible forest management. For this reason Unifloor B.V. has chosen to supply almost all products which contain wood with an FSC label.
